George joined Town from Scottish club Rangers in July 2021, penning a four-year deal until the summer of 2025. 

The central defender made 34 appearances during his first Ipswich season, before appearing a further 25 times in the 2022/23 campaign, which resulted in Town winning promotion to the Championship. 

He scored three goals over the course of the season, including a vital equaliser as Town came from behind to win 2-1 at Morecambe in October. 

George was again a big contributor during the 2023/24 season, making 15 appearances in all competitions and impressing whenever called into the side. His displays in January of 2024, when he enjoyed a regular run in the side with Cameron Burgess away on international duty, saw him named the Club's Player of the Month as he helped the Blues win promotion to the Premier League.

During his time with Rangers (2019-21), George was on the winning side in an Old Firm clash with Celtic and gained vital Europa League experience – scoring against German side Bayer Leverkusen at Ibrox. 

He joined Derby County on loan during the second half of the 2020/21 season, making 10 appearances for the Rams and scoring once. 

The defender began his career with Oldham Athletic, coming through the club’s youth system and making a total of 79 appearances before making the move to Glasgow.
