Town signed Harry Clarke for an undisclosed fee from Arsenal in January 2023. 

The defender, who can operate as a centre-half or right-back, signed a three-and-a-half-year deal at Portman Road as he returned to his hometown club. 

He quickly became an important member of the starting XI and helped the Blues win promotion from League One, before a second promotion followed 12 months later as the Club were promoted to the Premier League. Clarke made 39 appearances throughout the season, scoring his first goal for the Club as he fired a shot through traffic and into the top corner to open the scoring against Blackburn in September 2023.

The Ipswich-born player originally joined the Blues’ Academy set-up after being scouted while playing for Brantham Athletic, before making the switch to Premier League club Arsenal in 2015. 

He signed a professional contract with The Gunners in 2018, before beginning a series of loan spells away from Emirates Stadium with Oldham Athletic, Ross County and then Hibernian. 

Harry then gained valuable experience in the Championship with Stoke City, during the first half of the 2022/23 season, before returning to Suffolk and becoming a valuable member of the Town team which won promotion from League One. 

He scored his first goal in September 2023, thumping in Town's opener in a 4-3 victory over Blackburn Rovers.
