Bio

Vaclav joined Town from Salford City in June 2021.

After making 14 appearances in his first Town season, the Czech keeper went on to feature regularly in cup competitions in his second, particularly impressing during the Blues’ two FA Cup games with Burnley.

The 2023/24 campaign saw Vas establish himself as Town's first choice goalkeeper following a pre-season injury to Christian Walton, before going on to start all 46 games and make countless vital saves as the Blues secured promotion to the Premier League.

A vital member of the Town goalkeeping unit, Vas previously won the League Two Golden Glove with Salford in his final season with The Ammies before moving to Suffolk, while also saving the deciding penalty as his side won the delayed staging of the 2020 EFL Trophy final at Wembley.

He has earned a reputation as a penalty specialist during his career, saving three out of four Dundee United spot kicks to keep former club St Mirren in the Scottish top-flight in 2019, having previously played for Slovan Liberec and Zbrojovka Brno in his homeland.
